□ 서울에너지드림센터(센터장 이용성)와 뉴스펭귄(편집인 김기정)은 3월 4일(수) 서울에너지드림센터에서 기후위기 관련 전시 협력 및 교육 콘텐츠의 활용·확산을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하였다.
○ 서울에너지드림센터는 상암동 ‘평화의 공원’ 내 위치한 국내 최초 에너지자립형 친환경 공공건물로, 제로에너지건축물(ZEB) 확산 및 기후·에너지·환경 등을 주제로 한 시민환경교육 프로그램을 운영하는 전문기관이다. 「환경교육법」 및 「서울특별시 환경교육조례」에 근거한 서울특별시환경교육센터(광역환경교육센터)도 지정・운영 중이다.
○ 뉴스펭귄은 기후위기 및 환경·생태 이슈를 전문적으로 다루는 국내 유일 전문 뉴스매체로서, 멸종위기종 보호와 생물다양성 보전, 탄소중립 사회 전환 등 지속가능성과 관련한 다양한 콘텐츠를 제작·보도하고 있다. 또한 기후·환경 분야의 심층보도 및 캠페인, 데이터 기반 콘텐츠 등을 통해 시민의 환경 인식을 높이고 사회적 공감대를 확산하는 데 기여하고 있다.
□ 양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 기후·환경 콘텐츠를 기반으로 전시·교육 운영 활성화를 위한 다양한 협력 사업을 공동 추진하기로 하였다.
○ 이번 협약은 ▲기후위기 대응 및 탄소중립 관련 전시·교육 공동 기획·운영 ▲기후위기 적응 교육 콘텐츠의 활용·확산을 위한 협력 ▲전시 운영에 필요한 자료 및 인적·물적 자원의 상호 지원 ▲협력 전시 및 사업과 관련한 공동 홍보 및 대외 인식 제고 활동 등을 중심에 두고 있다.
○ 양 기관은 국내 공공분야 최초 제로에너지건축물(ZEB)이자 서울특별시 대표적인 탄소중립·환경교육 전시·교육시설인 「서울에너지드림센터」의 지난 10여 년간 축적한 운영 데이터와 전시·교육 운영 경험에 「뉴스펭귄」의 기후·환경 분야 심층보도 및 캠페인, 데이터 기반 전문 콘텐츠 등을 연계하여 보다 체계적이고 전문적인 전시교육 콘텐츠를 발굴하여 시민의 생태소양(Ecological Literacy) 증진에 기여하기로 하였다.
□ 뉴스펭귄 김기정 편집인은 “매체로서 뉴스펭귄이 갖는 핵심 기획의도가 생태소양(Ecological Literacy)을 위한 교육적 맥락에 있는 만큼, 이번 협약이 시민과 학생들에게 기후환경에 대한 인식을 근본적으로 변화시키는 중요한 계기가 될 것”이라고 협약의 의미를 강조했다.
□ 서울에너지드림센터 이용성 센터장은 “이번 협약은 서울특별시 대표적 기후·에너지·환경분야 교육기관으로서, 시설과 프로그램을 기반으로 다년간 시민과 호흡해 온 서울에너지드림센터와 멸종위기 및 기후위기 문제를 전문적으로 다루는 국내 유일 전문 뉴스매체가 함께 한다는 점부터 특별한 의미가 크다”고 전하며, “앞으로 양 기관의 전문성과 역량을 기반으로 보다 체계적이고 전문적인 콘텐츠를 시민에게 제공하여, 시민의 기후역량과 생태소양을 증진하는 데 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

SEOUL ENERGY DREAM CENTER (hereinafter "Company") establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to protect the personal information of data subjects and to handle related complaints promptly and smoothly, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information)
The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information being processed shall not be used for purposes other than the following, and if the purpose of use changes, necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent shall be taken in accordance with applicable laws.
- Membership registration and management
Personal information is processed for the purposes of confirming membership intent, identification and authentication for membership services, maintaining and managing membership, and preventing unauthorized use of services. - Customer inquiry handling
Personal information is processed for receiving inquiries through 1:1 inquiries and bulletin boards, contacting for fact verification, and notifying processing results.
Article 2 (Items of Personal Information Processed)
The Company processes the following personal information items:

During the use of services, IP addresses, access logs, cookies, and service usage records may be automatically generated and collected.
Article 3 (Processing and Retention Period)
The Company processes and retains personal information within the period of retention and use consented to when collecting personal information from the data subject, or within the period prescribed by law.
- Member information: Until membership withdrawal. However, if an investigation related to a violation of applicable laws is in progress, until the completion of said investigation.
- Non-member board post information: Until the post is deleted.
- 1:1 Inquiry information: 3 years after completion of inquiry processing (retention of records related to consumer complaints or dispute resolution under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The Company processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information), and provides personal information to third parties only in cases falling under applicable laws.
Currently, we do not provide personal information to third parties.
Article 5 (Entrustment of Personal Information Processing)
The Company may entrust personal information processing as follows for smooth processing:

Article 6 (Destruction Procedures and Methods)
- The Company shall destroy personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary due to expiration of the retention period or achievement of processing purposes.
- Destruction procedure: Information entered by users is transferred to a separate database after the purpose is achieved and destroyed after a certain period in accordance with internal policies and applicable laws.
- Destruction method: Personal information in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that make the records irreproducible, and personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding or incineration.
Article 7 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects)
- Data subjects may exercise the following rights related to personal information protection at any time:
- Request to view personal information
- Request for correction in case of errors
- Request for deletion
- Request to suspend processing
- Rights may be exercised in writing, by phone, or by email, and the Company shall take action without delay.
- If a data subject requests correction or deletion of personal information errors, the Company shall not use or provide the personal information until the correction or deletion is completed.
Article 8 (Measures to Ensure Safety of Personal Information)
The Company takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information:
- Password encryption: User passwords are encrypted for storage and management, so only the user can know them.
- Technical measures against hacking: Security programs are installed and regularly updated and inspected to prevent leakage and damage of personal information caused by hacking or computer viruses.
- Access restriction: Access to personal information is controlled through the granting, changing, and revoking of access rights to the database system that processes personal information.
Article 9 (Personal Information Protection Officer)
The Company designates a Personal Information Protection Officer as follows to take overall responsibility for personal information processing and handle complaints and remedies related to personal information processing:

Article 10 (Changes to This Privacy Policy)
This Privacy Policy is effective from the date of implementation. Any additions, deletions, or corrections due to changes in laws or policies will be announced through notices at least 7 days prior to the effective date of the changes.
