매년 폭염과 열대야 발생이 늘고있는 여름! 올해는 더 강력한 폭염이 찾아왔습니다.
폭염을 이겨내기 위해 사용하고 있는 에어컨, 이대로 괜찮을까요?
● 폭염
폭염은 매우 심한 더위를 말하며 폭염이 지속되면 열사병, 열경련 등의 온열질환을 유발할 수 있으며, 심한 경우 야외 근로자나 노약자 등은 사망에 이르는 등 많은 피해가 발생합니다.
폭염으로 인한 피해는 인간 뿐만아니라 가축과 어패류의 집단 폐사 등을 초래하기도 합니다.
따라서 여름철에는 무더위 속에서 건강과 안전을 지킬 수 있도록 폭염예보와 더불어 국민행동요령이 발표됩니다.
이러한 극심한 더위를 이겨내기 위해 당연한 듯 선풍기나 부채보다 에어컨 리모컨을 들게되었고, 심지어 스마트폰으로 밖에서 에어컨을 미리 틀어놓는 기능까지 생겼습니다.
"그런데 정말 에어컨은 필수일까요? "
"에어컨으로 폭염을 이겨내는 것이 건강을 지키는 현명한 방법일까요? "
그 답을 찾기 전에, 폭염이 왜 발생하는지 원인을 생각해볼 필요가 있습니다.
● 폭염과 열대야 경향은 어떻게 변했나?

폭염과 열대야의 발생 빈도가 점차 상승하는 것을 확인할 수 있습니다.

2010년대에 폭염 14일, 열대야 9일로 최근 10년간 발생빈도가 급격히 상승하였습니다.

역대 폭염과 열대야 일수가 많았던 해는 1위 2018년, 2위 1994년, 3위 2016년, 4위 2013년, 5위 1990년입니다. 상위 5위 안에 2010년대가 무려 3개 해가 포함되어있죠.
앞서 본 데이터를 통해 기후변화는 점점 가파른 속도로 가속화되고 있고, 기후변화가 계속된다면 폭염과 열대야는 더 심각해 질 것으로 예상됩니다.
그런데 지구온난화에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 이산화탄소는 대부분 에너지 연료를 연소하면서 발생합니다. 결국 우리가 에어컨을 많이 쓸수록 더위는 더 심해지는 악순환이 반복되는 것입니다.
● 더워죽는 것 보다 냉방병이 낫다?
가속화되는 기후변화에 인간이 살아가기 위해 적응하는 것도 중요한 과제입니다.
하지만 그 방법이 올바른 방법인지 반드시 확인해야 합니다.
기상청 날씨누리의 폭염 발생 시 국민행동요령에 따르면 냉방기기를 사용하는 경우에 실내/외 온도차를 5℃ 내외로 유지하여 냉방병을 예방하도록 안내하고 있습니다. 건강한 실내 냉방 온도는 26℃~28℃가 적당합니다.
에너지 절약과 환경 뿐 아니라, 우리의 건강을 위해서라도 적정온도 유지는 필수인 셈이죠.
● 세상에 나쁜 에어컨은 없다?
결국 피할 수 없는 에어컨 사용!
특히 한 낮에 밖에서 일하는 분들이나 노약자분들은 에어컨 사용이 불가피합니다.
그렇다면 나쁜 '에어컨'이 되지 않도록 현명하게 사용하려면 어떻게 해야할까요?

Personal information is processed for the purposes of confirming membership intent, identification and authentication for membership services, maintaining and managing membership, and preventing unauthorized use of services. - Customer inquiry handling
Personal information is processed for receiving inquiries through 1:1 inquiries and bulletin boards, contacting for fact verification, and notifying processing results.
Article 2 (Items of Personal Information Processed)
The Company processes the following personal information items:

During the use of services, IP addresses, access logs, cookies, and service usage records may be automatically generated and collected.
Article 3 (Processing and Retention Period)
The Company processes and retains personal information within the period of retention and use consented to when collecting personal information from the data subject, or within the period prescribed by law.
- Member information: Until membership withdrawal. However, if an investigation related to a violation of applicable laws is in progress, until the completion of said investigation.
- Non-member board post information: Until the post is deleted.
- 1:1 Inquiry information: 3 years after completion of inquiry processing (retention of records related to consumer complaints or dispute resolution under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The Company processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information), and provides personal information to third parties only in cases falling under applicable laws.
Currently, we do not provide personal information to third parties.
Article 5 (Entrustment of Personal Information Processing)
The Company may entrust personal information processing as follows for smooth processing:

Article 6 (Destruction Procedures and Methods)
- The Company shall destroy personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary due to expiration of the retention period or achievement of processing purposes.
- Destruction procedure: Information entered by users is transferred to a separate database after the purpose is achieved and destroyed after a certain period in accordance with internal policies and applicable laws.
- Destruction method: Personal information in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that make the records irreproducible, and personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding or incineration.
Article 7 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects)
- Data subjects may exercise the following rights related to personal information protection at any time:
- Request to view personal information
- Request for correction in case of errors
- Request for deletion
- Request to suspend processing
- Rights may be exercised in writing, by phone, or by email, and the Company shall take action without delay.
- If a data subject requests correction or deletion of personal information errors, the Company shall not use or provide the personal information until the correction or deletion is completed.
Article 8 (Measures to Ensure Safety of Personal Information)
The Company takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information:
- Password encryption: User passwords are encrypted for storage and management, so only the user can know them.
- Technical measures against hacking: Security programs are installed and regularly updated and inspected to prevent leakage and damage of personal information caused by hacking or computer viruses.
- Access restriction: Access to personal information is controlled through the granting, changing, and revoking of access rights to the database system that processes personal information.
Article 9 (Personal Information Protection Officer)
The Company designates a Personal Information Protection Officer as follows to take overall responsibility for personal information processing and handle complaints and remedies related to personal information processing:

Article 10 (Changes to This Privacy Policy)
This Privacy Policy is effective from the date of implementation. Any additions, deletions, or corrections due to changes in laws or policies will be announced through notices at least 7 days prior to the effective date of the changes.
Effective Date: From the date of posting on the Site
